For this year's 23rd anniversary, we made the entire green Sylter Giant family as miniatures about 10 cm high. The base is the wooden collecting plate. The individual figures with bases can be inserted into the round recesses. An The giantess is an exception: It can stand stably without a base. The Sylt giant girl, the giant boy and the Sylt giant man are placed on a round base. Without the base you would fall over ;-). History of the Sylt Giants:
Since 2001, the sculpture group “Traveling Giants in the Wind” by the Kiel sculptor Martin Wolke has stood in front of the Westerländer train station on Sylt. The giant family, consisting of mother, father and two children, welcomes the arriving travelers - five meters high, bright green and an integral part of the cityscape. To mark this milestone anniversary, we are releasing an exclusive artist edition of the figures in miniature format! All copies in the ongoing series are signed by the artist.
Material info:
Figures approx. 10 cm: painted tin cast. Lanterns resin painted. Collection plate made of multiplex approx. 30 x 23 x 1,6 cm. All work steps from casting to painting take place in our studio. The base plate and the base are made by a carpentry shop in the neighboring village.
